Storyline of Bahubali 2: The Conclusion

The story starts from where Kattapa left it in the ending of the first part. Amarendra Bahubali played by Prabhas and Bhallala Deva played by Rana Daggubati are two cousin brothers, both of them are potential successors to the throne of the grand empire of Mahishmati. Baahubali’s parents are already dead and therefore he and Bhallala deva are raised by the daring queen of Mahishmati, Sivagami (played by Ramya Krishnan). Sivagami is Bhallala deva’s mother but she decides to crown Baahubali as the next ruler of Mahishmati as she feels he has more compassion than her own son and is fit to be a ruler. She wants Bhallala Deva to be a pillar to the throne of Baahubali. But Bhallala dev and his father have their own ambitions. They conspire against Bahubali and kills him and captures his wife Devsena and use Kattapa (played by Sathyaraj) and Sivagami as their pawns to achieve their goal. Sivagami manages to save Baahubali’s son before dying.

The story of Bahubali 2 is actually more of a prequel to Bahubali as it deals in flashback mostly. The first half deals with the love story of Baahubali and Devsena and the second half leads to the revenge of Mahendra Baahubali (also played by Prabhas) for the death of his parents.

BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION MOVIE REVIEW

The epic storyline of ancient India combined with unbelievable visual effects of seriously high quality makes Baahubali a worth watching movie. Such a super combo is a rarity in Indian cinema and it promises to be an experience of a lifetime. The movie is epic and magical.

The rivalry between Prabhas and Rana Duggabati steals the show.

The rivalry between Prabhas and Rana Duggabati steals the show.

Everyone wants to know the reason why Kattapa killed Bahubali but when you will watch the movie you realise that there is much more in it. It is not only about the question. Baahubali 2 is a roller coaster ride which makes this gigantic question appear a small plot in front of the larger schemes that the movie offer. The most beautiful part of the movie is its characters. Evey character has strong and individual personality and this what makes Baahubali 2 a treat to watch.

Prabhas was excellent in his dual role. Amarendra Bahubali is an ideal hero who is powerful and has strong moral values. he is a truly kind leader who is loved by his people. He believes in his dharma and believes in justice. Devsena is his love interest who remains by his side and keeps believing in him no matter how hard the times are. Sivagami is a ferocious queen who doesn’t let her personal emotions affect her decisions. She always does what is right for the kingdom. Bijjaladeva and Bhallaladeva are evil personified and if you thought that you had seen it all in the first part then you will be pleasantly surprised at what you will witness. The bond of love and hate among these characters allows the story to be a swift one. Evey actor has done justice to his/her role in the movie.

You will find every inch of human emotion in the movie. There is love, hate, action, betrayal and revenge. All of this put together creates a masterpiece which we know as Bahubali 2. The story is mainstream we might have heard a million times before but the way it is portrayed makes it beautiful. Baahubali 2 reveals a lot more about the characters than its prequel. Every character has a background that has made them the way they are. Their contrasting beliefs and ambitions lead to a clash which leaves the audience spellbound.

VFX

Apart from the story what sets Bahubali 2 apart from other movies is the quality of VFX used in it. It is a treat to watch and that is not something which is very common in Indian movies. The visual effects were of so high quality that it was even called as Bollywood’s answer to the Hollywood’s 300. There was a huge load of expectations to repeat the same with Baahubali 2 and the makers have sure done an excellent job. The fighting scenes are so real that you can’t tell whether are they actually shot or created by computer graphics. From the mightiest of fighting scenes to the smallest of expressions, everything has been portrayed in an epic way.

OUR VERDICT

You need not think twice before watching Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. It is awesome in every way be it VFX, cinematography, costumes or production design. S S Rajamouli has done a fantastic job just like he did in Bahubali: The beginning. Go and watch it as soon as you can.
