History of Chilli Paneer


Chilli Paneer is an Indo- Chinese cuisine or we can say it is an Indian duped Chinese cuisine where we have replaced traditional Chinese core ingredient such as fish, chicken etc. by our traditional and evergreen and all time favorite Paneer.
Paneer is just nothing but a kind of fresh curd or a non-melting farmer cheese, found very commonly in South Asian countries such as Afghan, Bangladesh, Indian Nepal, and Pakistan. It is commonly known as Cottage cheese and it is so because it can be easily made at home. There also exists a moist form of Paneer, which is known as Chhena and it is very popular in the west Bengal state of India. There are many dishes which can be made by Paneer including starter, main course, deserts, everything such as:

Chili Paneer
Chhena murgi
Mattar paneer
Sandesh
Rasgulla
Rasmalai and much more.

Now let us get back to our product i.e. Chilli Paneer as I was saying it is an Indo- Chinese and it is very nutritious and healthy in addition to being an extremely delicious dish. It can be served as both starter and a main course dish as well. As a starter, we can have it as a snack or core ingredient in either dry form or in gravy form while as the main course you use it as a secondary ingredient along with noodles or rice or even with any kind of bread.




The authentic recipe of this dish is originated from China consisting of Chinese culinary Skills and flavours but gets popularity due to overseas Chinese communities and there is no doubt that these Chinese communities have made their Chinese culinary Skills viral in India and specially because of those who are settled in the region of west Bengal chilli Paneer is invented as they have tried a various in their traditional food with a new flavour and as a result we all have one more good dish in our menu. Chilli Paneer is just simply a dish where Cottage cheese is fried into a sauce of red chili and served with green onion sticks and parsley.

Chilli Paneer Recipe


Time required: 20-30 minutes
Ingredients
Carrot – 2 big large cubed
Capsicum – 2 big large cubed
Garam Masala – 2 tsp
Green chili – 1-3 (finely chopped)
Olive Oil – To cook Paneer
Onion – 1 large peeled and chopped
Paneer –200 grams cubed
Salt and spices – as per taste
Water – 1 cup
For Batter/Sauce
Coriander Powder –2 tsp
Corn Flour – 6 tbsp
Chilli Powder –2 tsp
Cumin seeds –2 tsp
Onion – 1 large grated
Salt to taste
Soya Sauce –1 tsp
Sugar –1/2 tsp
Tomato – 1 large grated
Turmeric Powder –2 tsp
Water as needed

How to make Chilli Paneer


  1. First of all, take out your mixer grinder and pour all the ingredients of batter in it and grind it to make a thin sauce.
  2. Now take out a non-stick frying pan or kadhai put it on high flame add some oil to it and heat it.
  3. Add onions to it and cook them till they change their color to golden brown.
  4. Later add the reaming vegetables slowly-slowly, cook them for a while and then add the batter or sauce to it and
  5. lastly put the lid over it and cook it for 5-6 minutes on medium flame.
  6. Again take out another pan, splash some drops of oil over it and heat it.
  7. Later take some half of a tablespoon oil and spread it on the pan evenly and heat it a bit on medium flame.
  8. Now add Paneer cubes in the pan and roast them for a while.
  9. Introduce the cubes to the vegetable pan and mesh them all well.
  10. Now your Chilli Paneer is ready to eat and you can serve it hot with spicy noodles or fried rice or chapatti or directly.

How to make Sauce
Take all the ingredients of the batter in a grinder and grinder them to make a thin most batter.

NOTE: You can also use some ready made chili paneer masala.
